HEAT Learn To Swim
In an effort to heighten awareness of the importance of water safety for adult and children of all ages, the Miami HEAT, Florida Blue and Bally Sports Sun encourage South Floridians to receive training in aquatics and water safety courses by supporting organizations such as the American Red Cross through collaborative partnerships.

HEAT Thanksgiving Celebration
The Miami HEAT players and staff ring in the holiday season with numerous festive celebrations and outreach efforts. Programs include turkey giveaways at Thanksgiving, holiday hospital visits, holiday parties and toy drives for local charities.
HEAT Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration
With the largest Hispanic season ticket fan base in the NBA, the Miami HEAT Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration presented by Pollo Tropical, Florida Blue and Bally Sports Sun, has engaged the Hispanic community for fourteen years with an annual HEAT Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration during the month of October. The event consists of a fun-filled day of festivities that includes interaction with HEAT Players, HEAT Dancers, the Hoop Troop and Burnie the mascot.
The Re-HEAT program, presented by REEF Technology and in partnership with Levy Restaurants and AmericanAirlines Arena, distributes unserved food from all HEAT home games to homeless shelters in the South Florida area. Beneficiary organizations include the Miami Rescue Mission and Chapman Partnership. During all of our 2019-20 NBA HEAT homes games, we were able to donate almost 3,057 pounds of unserved food to Camillus House, Miami Rescue Mission and the Chapman Partnership for an average of 95 pounds of food per game. Through the assistance of supporting partner Levy Cares, to date over 60,000 pounds of food have been distributed to Re-HEAT beneficiaries, the Miami Rescue Mission, Camillus House and Chapman Partnership.
HEAT Glades Sweep
The Miami HEAT takes its green initiatives to the Florida Everglades by hosting the HEAT Glades Sweep presented by the Miccosukee Resort and Gaming. Our green efforts highlight the HEAT’s commitment to generating awareness for the protection and sustainability of the environment throughout our community. HEAT Glades Sweep aims to improve the Florida Everglades ecosystem and help bring awareness to the importance of its restoration.
Random Acts Of HEAT
Random Acts of HEAT, presented by UKG, is a series of good deeds in the South Florida community meant to inspire individuals, families, organizations and communities to reciprocate kindness through random acts of their own.
The AmericanAirlines Arena, which celebrated it's 15th anniversary year in 2015, continues to blaze a trail for best practices and industry firsts.
As part of Green Week in April 2009, the AmericanAirlines Arena announced that it was awarded LEED Certification for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).The AmericanAirlines Arena was one of the first two arenas in the country to receive this prestigious designation by the USGBC. In January 2015, the AmericanAirlines Arena was awarded LEED Gold recertification by the USGBC, becoming the first arena in the world to receive LEED Gold recertification.
LEED is the USGBC's leading rating system for designing and constructing the world's greenest, most energy-efficient, and high performing buildings.
Veterans Day Home Renovations
This program is part of the team’s on-going commitment to support U.S. servicemen and servicewomen at home and abroad through the Home Strong Initiative, and in conjunction with the NBA Hoops for Troops program. Members of the Miami HEAT staff and HEAT legends, work alongside members of the U.S. Armed Forces, Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade, Inc. and Ultimate Kronos Group staffers on Veterans Day to help renovate the homes of local veterans in Miami-Dade County.

As long-time supporters of the LGBTQ community, the HEAT and AmericanAirlines Arena remain steadfastly committed to embracing the diversity that makes Miami a unique and special city.
- January 2018: HEAT was recognized by the NBA for its lengthy history and on-going commitment to diversity and inclusion by winning the NBA’s inaugural Inclusion Leadership Award.
- June 7th, 2018: Eric Woolworth, President of The HEAT Group’s Business Operations, was named a “2018 Champion of Diversity” by SAVE, South Florida’s leading organization dedicated to promoting, protecting and defending equality for LGBTQ community.
- April 7th, 2019: Miami HEAT & Ultimate Kronos Group staff members took part in this year’s Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade to celebrate diversity & inclusion. The parade is part of the weeklong celebration that brings together members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community, their friends, allies, and supporters in celebration of the unique spirit and culture of the LGBTQ community.
